Guided breast biopsies in Contrast-Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM)

Over the past few years there has been a significant surge of interest in the use of contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM). The reasons for the recent interest in CESM are mainly the high sensitivity of this breast imaging modality and the absence of any effect of breast
density on the sensitivity. However, despite the many benefits of CESM, up until now the technique had the inconvenience that taking a biopsy of any suspicious lesion detected by CESM meant that the biopsy guidance had to be carried out using another imaging modality.
