Unlike most cancers, where imaging findings need to be confirmed by tissue sampling for diagnosis and treatment, multiphasic CT and
MR imaging is sufficient in most cases for the diagnosis and staging of hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Imaging alone may be used
to make treatment decisions in HCC, including major surgical options such as hepatic resection and liver transplantation, as well
as chemotherapy (Sorafenib) without confirmatory biopsy [1].
