Digital Breast Tomosynthesis is rapidly emerging as a technique for breast cancer diagnosis and screening. In this article, we review recent advances in Computer Aided Detection (CAD) systems for tomosynthesis and, with the results of a retrospective study using an independent, multicenter dataset, show the potential of the technology.
